The gardens at the George Inn Frant

Enclosed gardens

The George Inn has a beautiful, peaceful, enclosed rear garden, with a children’s play area. There’s barely a whisper of traffic noise to be heard at the wooden tables in the walled beer garden, with its trees and colourful flowers. Ideal for sunny lunches with the family or balmy summer evening drinks.

If you like to watch the world go by, we also have tables on the pavement at the front.

The George Inn is at the heart of the Frant community

The George in the community

Greg and Catherine Elliott, who run the George, were married in the village church and their children attend the local school. Since taking over in 2006 they have made the George the heart of the community. They are supported by their two chefs; bar and kitchen staff are from the family or recruited locally.

The pub has its own golf society, “the Gofers” and is a meeting point for local clubs. Winter is enlivened by the Monday night quiz, special food nights and darts.

Weddings and events

The restaurant/function room has also become popular as a venue for private celebrations, parties and functions, with menus tailored to the occasion.

The décor is enlivened by Catherine’s taste in bric a brac from her trawls through French markets and local car boot sales.
